If you're farming Anglers for Acid and Adhesive, the Mire is where your time actually pays off, and I learned that the hard way after too many foggy laps that turned up nothing. I tend to plan my route like a quick errand run, and if you're also chasing levels or want your grind to feel less random, I've seen folks pair it with services like fallout76boosting so the whole session feels a bit more worth it. The trick is treating Anglers like a repeatable loop, not a lucky encounter you bump into once a night.

The Mire Loop That Usually Delivers

Start at Crevasse Dam. Don't overthink it. Check the waterline and the muddy banks first, because that's where they like to sit, and you'll often catch two or three before the rest of the area even wakes up. After you clear them, walk it over to Dyer Chemical instead of fast traveling out. Swing behind the main building and follow the shoreline; Anglers mix in with the usual Mire nonsense back there, and you can spot the glow if you slow down for a second. If you've got a spare minute, cut north toward the shallow pools by Treehouse Village—some worlds it's empty, other worlds it's a nice little extra pile of scrap.

Quieter Spots When The Main Route Is Busy

Highland Marsh is a pain to see through, but that's exactly why it's useful. You don't get as many people dropping in, so you're not racing anyone for spawns. Stick near the wrecked boats and the flooded walkways and just sweep the edges like you're looking for movement, not landmarks. Thunder Mountain Substation TM-02 is more of a "check it if you're nearby" stop. It won't always pop, but when it does, it's basically free value because you're already in the area for events or a quest chain.

Staying Alive And Killing Them Fast

Anglers aren't cute little XP bags. Their fire spit will flatten you if you stand there trading shots like it's a normal gunfight. Bring fire resistance if you can, or at least run Fireproof so you're not burning through Stimpaks every pull. Aim high—heads and those glowing lures drop them quicker than body shots, and it keeps the fight short. I like an automatic rifle or a shotgun so I can stagger them and keep space. Melee works, sure, but it turns farming into a medical supply problem, and that's not why you came out here.

Turning A Run Into A Real Haul

Don't just loot and bounce. Cook the Angler meat for the XP boost, then keep moving while the buffs are running, because that's where the session starts to stack up. If you're server hopping, do the Dam and Dyer loop first, swap worlds, and repeat until your scrap box is heavy. And if you're the kind of player who'd rather skip some of the slower gearing steps, buying currency or items from eznpc can take pressure off the grind so you can focus on the parts you actually enjoy, like efficient farm routes and clean clears.
